The Position:
Under the guidance of the Head of Office, the GBV National Manager participate in the formulation, management and evaluation of programme activities within the GBV in humanitarian context.
You will report directly to the Coordinator of Humanitarian Operations.

The GBV National Manager for Emergencies maintains collaborative relationships with all programme and project staff at the CO, and operations staff as well. Internal contacts include the Head of Office and the CO's programme/ technical team/ and the area of responsibility of GBV within the Humanitarian architecture. External contacts include other UN agencies in country and counterparts in Country programme activities.
Job Purpose:
The GBV National Manager for emergencies assists in the design, planning and management of GBV Program in humanitarian context, analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to project implementation and monitoring. The GBV National Manager for emergencies assists with program / project implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation. Specialization in Gender and Violence will facilitate the development of UNFPA program interventions in Venezuela to prevent and respond to Gender Violence, according to its mandate.
You would be responsible for:
- Participate in design, planning and management of GBV programme, specifically in the identification, formulation and implementation of GBV interventions in humanitarian context, with special attention to local context.
- Ensure that prevention strategies and response to gender violence are aligned with the humanitarian response of UNFPA at all levels.
- Provide technical support and strategic guidance to field coordinators and local counterparts on issues related to gender violence and crisis response.
- Monitoring project and programme activities, establishing and implementing mechanisms to systematically assess the achievement of results, conducting field visits, participating in review meetings and missions and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports.
- Analyze factors affecting the achievement of results, recommends corrective actions and follows up on recommendations.
- Contribute to advocacy with different actors to local and national level that enhance the implementation and achievement of project products.
- Contribute to creation and sharing of knowledge by synthesizing and documenting findings and lessons learned, success stories and best practices and drafting relevant materials for dissemination.
- Develop additional actions related to its functions that required by UNFPA CO
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- University Degree related to social science field, with specifics high level training and knowledge in gender approach and gender based violence.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the areas of Gender Equality, Sexual and Reproductive Rights and gender based violence.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English; knowledge of other official UN languages, is desirable.
