Under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization and Strategic Partnerships Officer, the Individual Consultant (Resource Mobilization & partnerships) will support the overall effort of the UNFPA Country Office to build partnerships and mobilize appropriate and sustainable resources, including the design and implementation of communication strategies for the positioning of the UNFPA brand, role and work in the country, that may prompt further alliances. The Individual Consultant will support the implementation of the existing resource mobilization strategy, the timely development of relevant documents for the establishment of partnerships, and the design and implementation of communication strategies to reach multiple audiences (Country donors, Development and Cooperation Agencies, IFIs, Private Sector, Academia, etc.)

Scope of work:

Supported the implementation of the existing CO’s resource mobilization strategy.
- Support the external and internal analysis for assessing opportunities of resource mobilization from institutional as well as private sector donors.
- Support the analysis of key development policies currently being discussed and implemented.
- Support the development of specific donor fund-raising strategies and approaches.

Supported the timely development of relevant documents for the establishment of partnerships.
- Support drafting of concept notes, and full proposals.
- Support drafting of pre-screening tool and partnership agreements.
- Support the process of donor reporting for all projects.

Supported the design and implementation of communication strategies.
- Support the design, drafting, and development of tailor made materials, publications, brochures and any other tool to support UNFPA promotional activities.
- Support the organization of events.
- Support the coordination of the Strategic Positioning CO team.

Duration and working schedule:
From February 21, 2022 to December 21, 2022.

Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in communication or any related field. Experience working on partnerships, communication and/or brand positioning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to translate numerical data into reasoned arguments and figures.
- Experience in handling affairs with the press and media and organizing conferences and events;
- Experience in preparing and editing technical papers;
- Computer literate and good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative;
- Results-oriented, team player, demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environment and to maintain effective working relations with people of different backgrounds;
- Strong interest in development work, especially the mission of the United Nations Population Fund and its new Strategic Plan.
- Working experience in information systems, database and web site management would be an advantage;
